I am a Pizza Delivery driver for a non-franchise pizza corporation in my city.

Recently, I rear-ended a car while driving on the job--probably my legal fault. I had liability. No major injuries--just me--bruised knee I got checked out with Xray in the ER. I was going 20-25 mph and misjudged the distance to a car that suddenly stopped in the road to make a turn, with no turn signal.

Does anybody know--with experience in the pizza business and with this kind of situation--if I could possibly qualify for workman's comp for: a) the ER bill, b) repair to my car, c) loss of wages?

Does anyone have any suggestions how I can make sure my rights are protected and to get the best out of this situation from the corporation?

Tomorrow I call the corporation to ask about this, and to get a copy of my employee file and their policies, plus any forms I signed when hired. I may call my state insurance board too.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
