This is such bullshit.

even that they started wanting more to cover costs unrelated to driving and call it a "delivery charge" is BS.

Way back when, before I initiated my lawsuit against my employer, and one of the reasons why I decided to initiate my lawsuit, the written explanation for why the franchise was increasing the delivery fee was something to the effect that the increase of the delivery fee was due to the increase in costs of 'commodities'.

Then, immediately after the lawsuit was settled, there as a $0.50 increase to the delivery fee. I don't remember seeing any reason given for the increase, but I can guess a reason. ;) Which is somewhat strange, since 0%, none of, zilch, zero of the delivery fee, according to my employer, goes to the delivery driver.
