hello gregster, I'm a new board member and I'm impressed that you had taken the time to reply to my new posts considering.

I'm 51 years old and have three chronic illnesses Plus cancer that was treated a year ago on my tongue that has returned.

the fear and depression certainly can be overwhelming if you are doing it alone.
Remember, everyday is a good day just some are better than others.
Yes, all those appointments are tiring. hopefully your employer is understanding with scheduling. some months I have four or five appointments to go to.
some people get a kick out of knowing that I have my pharmacies phone number memorized.
good luck bud and I'm glad you've been able to do some things you enjoy again.

Wow. Sorry to hear about that. I hope things bet better for you. This has been quite a roller coaster ride for me so far this past month. I have had about 20 appointments during that time and 3 surgeries. (2 oral surgeries and one to place my feeding tube and chemo port.) My actual cancer treatment can't start for at least two more weeks until my gums heal from the procedure today.

I am not alone though. I have my wonderful wife, 15yo daughter, my 74yo mom and adult son living here too. Plus my GM let me take as much time off as I need. I have been off work almost since the beginning of this a month ago, and planned on being out of work for the two months of chemo and radiation.

I was actually feeling well enough that I was going to try and deliver tomorrow (Friday), but my mouth is too sore for that now. Maybe next week...

I know the feeling. some days I just don't think it's possible to get out of the house but once I do and I get moving around things get better.
I'm also self employed with a home based printing business
the boss is a great guy. haha

Were you planning on telling TTPG? I see your post regarding dohslapper... but nothing about your condition.

No. I am almost certain I would even be mocked and ridiculed for having cancer by some of the idiots over there. If the information comes up, I will address it, but I don't plan on initiating the conversation over there.

Grrrrrr. I was actually feeling well enough to work a little while today. I went in just before 4 pm and was told that they really needed me but that I could not work because I had been 'taken out of the system'. Instead of putting me on a 'leave of absence', they just let my employment lapse as if I was never coming back.

I was told that they would reverse the error on Monday and put me back in the system and I would be able to work next week.

It would have taken 2 minutes to put you back in the system. I hope they work it out and the next time you feel well enough to work they let you.

The people in the local office that can do that had already left for the day.

I got a text from my GM this morning. I'm back in the computer and he asked me to work today. I'm actually looking forward to it!
